Darlington
Stuart joined Perspective (North East) Limited at the Darlington office.
Stuart brings 20 years of experience in financial services, having worked across a wide range of roles. His career includes advising insurance clients, working with personal retail banking customers, and providing financial advice to business clients. He has also held roles focused on file checking, remediation and pre-sale technical advice, before spending several years within a small independent financial advice firm in compliance management, training and T&C. He holds Chartered Status and brings a strong technical background to his role.
Having originally moved from a career in software development into financial advice, Stuart was drawn by his long-standing interest in personal finance and financial planning. He particularly enjoys the technical challenge presented by more complex cases and takes satisfaction in solving clients’ financial problems in a clear and effective way. He believes clients value practical solutions that simplify complexity and support confident decision-making.
Stuart is passionate about helping clients by removing the “noise” from financial planning and improving financial understanding. By educating and empowering clients, he helps put them in a stronger financial position. His approach centres on listening carefully, challenging where necessary, and truly understanding clients as people before focusing on the numbers. He places great importance on empathy and seeing situations from the client’s perspective.
Outside of work, Stuart enjoys mountain biking and spending time outdoors. He is also heavily involved as the support crew for his son’s MotoX and endurance off-road motor biking, and enjoys walking in quiet places and taking on DIY projects at home.
